Nurturing the Divine Feminine Retreat

Who Are We?

We are an expansive, international, and intergalactic network of women of color artists that use our ancestral and learned knowledge; our melanin, spiritual guides, and our natural talents to heal and teach through holistic healing and plant magic.

Through our blog featuring educational, mystical, and holistic content, five published zines, original merchandise, and innumerable events, we have and continue to radicalize industries, and continue to rewrite many narratives surrounding BIWOC and entrepreneurship, the art world, and leadership in general.

Since our creation in 2015, we have received media attention from publications such as The Fader, Yes! Magazine, Cult Classic, Bitch Media, and more!

Over the last four years we have organized countless events such as monthly guided meditation and yoga sessions for womxn/femmes; The Black Market, a space of commerce encouraging folks in the community to support Black-owned businesses; The International Girl Gang Expo, a showcase of BIWOC vendors and performers with a grant by STG Presents; Sanctuary of the Modern Divine Feminine, an interactive month-long gallery display and event programming, and have hosted countless parties and functions!

Nurturing the Divine Feminine Retreat:

This Labor Day weekend, August 31-September 2, we are thrilled to present: Nurturing the Divine Feminine Retreat! This is a 3-day event filled with performance, ritual, conversations, 1-3hr workshops/panels, medicine making, and dance parties specifically for and by US!!

This event is targeted toward womxn/femmes, especially those that are BIWOC that work in a nurturing capacity either professionally or personally. We are gathering as Mothers, Teachers, Aunts, Doulas, Healers, Farmers, Elderly Caretakers, Godmothers, Nurses, Counselors, and more!

Participants will enjoy 3 meals along with snack and beverage, full 3-day programming, access to afterparty, AMAZING gift bag, medicine to take home, and other exclusive perks on site.

The conference will take place in part at The Jupiter Hotel in Portland, OR and in part at a private location, maximizing opportunities to connect and learn with one another. Workshops touch on all of the elements of our collective, including movement-based healing, guided yoga and meditation, creating plant medicine with a guest herbalist, in-depth conversations with radical mothers/entrepreneurs, and of course, dancing and celebrating with one another! Guest speakers and performers from all over the PNW will share their expertise with those who already take care of many, and are looking to converge with like-minded souls.

Your support ensures we can produce the highest quality event ;) and properly compensate all involved including performance talent, speakers, workshop leaders, catering, transportation, venue rental, marketing costs, and more.

As a community organization, we do what we can to uplift our extended family in any way we can, and are in turn asking for your support! In our four years of operation as BIWOC without independent wealth or financial backers we have never asked for monetary assistance from the public, but are depending on the reciprocity from those who support and love what we do. It truly takes a village, and we are thrilled to put on this event for our people!

Your contribution ensures that we can step up to the next level as event planners and provide the most excellent experience at the lowest price for members of our extended community!
