Hi, my name is Kim Lavinder. I'm currently battling breast cancer for the FOURTH time, while also experiencing an unexpected end to my marriage, which has forced me to face this illness again, but without the support of my partner, and has brought tremendous financial difficulties. Over the last decade I have undergone a dozen surgeries and tried various treatments to combat cancer, then was told I have it yet again this past fall. All at once I'm facing serious health issues, an untimely end to my marriage, financial strain, and the realistic possibility of losing my comfy little home and having to move. The combination of these struggles is very overwhelming and making it difficult to focus on healing, which should be my top priority.
Because of my separation and upcoming divorce, I am no longer part of a successful business that I helped start and run, and am now struggling to support myself with minimal income. Last year, out of necessity, I started working at a regular Monday through Friday job in catering/delivery, which is the type of work I've done off and on for years. My energy levels are lower than normal as my body fights a life-threatening illness while also enduring the heartbreak and hardship of the divorce process. I'm grateful for my job, but it is not bringing in enough income to cover my overwhelming expenses.
There's a very real possibility that I may lose my home due to the divorce. The last thing I want to do right now is move out of my house. It's just one more major life transition. I truly have enough on my plate already. All the different things happening at once are taking a toll on me emotionally, physically, and financially, but I'm trying hard to stay positive and hopeful.
Please consider sending a donation to help ease my financial burden. Your assistance will help me afford proper medical care that could lead to me finally healing from this persistent disease and also help me get back on my feet during these major life trials. I envision myself 100% healthy, fully enjoying life again. My passions include spending time with family and friends, especially my two wonderful children, laughing, dancing, creating art, being in nature, and simply loving and sharing my life with others. I catch glimpses of these things in between my overwhelming tasks and responsibilities. I know things will be easier one day, but for now I would appreciate any relief you can offer.
