The Edward Red Mage Mystery Novels

I'm author Angela P. Wade, and this is my quick-n-dirty campaign to get my first two fantasy/mystery novels (already available as e-books) out into the world as real, "live," print-on-paper, hold-in-your-hand books.
I don't have an "agenda" (in spite of what folks might say, LOL!), a political axe to grind, or an opinion to shove in folks' faces--I just have two kids and a husband who depend on me, and a dream that I ought to be able to support them by combining hard work and my education with my best natural talent: making up stories.
I've been working on the Edward Red Mage mysteries since 1996. The first full-length novel, Cloak of Obscurity, was finished in 2002, and the sequel, Queen Isabeau's Book, was written a year later. Since then, I've been trying various creative ways to get these stories (and their on-going sequels) out into the world. Traditional publishing hasn't really worked for me, for two reasons:
First, these books don't quite fit into a niche. They're "cosy" murder mysteries (quirky amateur sleuth gets sucked into cases where the grizzly bits happen mostly out of view of the reader), but instead of Miss Marple, you get Edward Red Mage: a wizard with powers of clairvoyance and levitation. They're fantasy, but not "High Fantasy": no Evil Dark Lord is trying to destroy the world (that's been done), and Edward is far more likely to pass out drunk in a gutter than swing a sword or come charging in on a white horse. It's fun to write something original, something I wanted to see and haven't seen before. But it's awful hard for the stores to figure out where to shelve it.
Second: I'm not already famous. Still, I have a quaint notion that creative expression shouldn't be reserved for the One Percent.
So I'm looking for money (other than the family grocery budget) to get ISBN numbers and have the books set up for print-on-demand publishing. The ACTUAL amount needed to do this is around $400.00. My goal amount factors in the cost of printing books for my contributors, because I don't want to ask for something and not produce something in return.
