Many of you know Brooklyn and her family, what you may not know, is about Brooklyn's medical journey. 13 years ago Brooklyn was diagnosed with Glycogen Storage Disease Type 1a (GSD1a). We have been keeping Brooklyn under control with medications and doctor appointments. On September 19th, 2025 we went to a doctors appointment with the Nephrology team and found out some bad news. Brooklyn was diagnosed with with Anemic Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease. We had discussed with the team of doctors about the next steps to take. The doctors want to try to push back doing dialysis. So there for the doctors want to do a double transplant of a full liver and kidney. They want to see if she can get the transplant first before we would really have to do dialysis. Unfortunately no one can donate to Brooklyn because she needs a full liver and kidney from a same donor. We scheduled Brooklyn for transplant testing on December 1 and December 2. Where we will find out if she is eligible for the transplant. Huge set forward.
Brooklyn is a very talented young girl. She has touched so many peoples hearts. When people talk about Brooklyn they always say how sweet, caring and wonderful personality. Her positivity shines where ever she goes.
Please consider donating to help Brooklyn and her family with her medical expenses. Any help is incredibly appreciated! We understand that times are tough for everyone. Even sharing this link is a help to the family.
Thank you,
Heitger and Petrie Family!
