Cancer Research UK

Hi everyone, my name is Evie and I am 15 years old. In the UK, 1 in 2 people will develop some form of cancer during their lifetime. Every four minutes someone in the UK dies from cancer, and with cancer taking control of more than 3 million lives (in 2022), there are over 167,000 cancer deaths in the UK every year and that's nearly 460 lives taken every day. Unfortunately back in 2019, my mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer, and the journey continues. I have chosen to take on a challenge of completing 50km over 15 days by walking and running to raise any money possible to donate to Cancer Research UK this summer. It has been something I’ve wished of doing for years, and as I have gotten older I’ve realised I have no time to lose. Any funds I raise will be used to help find cures for cancer in the future.
