Carmella Tully-Cornell Wishes

Hello all,

I appreciate you taking the time to read a GoFundMe about a precious sweet young teenager named Carmella Tully-Cornell.

Carmella will be 14 years old in April and lives in New River, AZ also known as northern Phoenix, but has unfortunately been battling ovarian and sarcoma cancer for the last five years of her life.

To give you an idea of whom she is, she is extremely sweet yet shy and reserved. Carmella is blessed with intelligence and beauty both inside and out. As an honor roll student, during 7th and 8th grade she challenged herself to start learning Mandarin. She loves her family, friends, and her three dogs. Carmella loves to travel and sightseeing, so far she has had the opportunity to visit 12 states. When she is not planning her next adventure, she also enjoys longboarding, chocolate ice cream, music, photography, Pokémon, video games, jewelry, makeup, and clothes.

Carmella has been through chemotherapy and radiation four times since diagnosis and fifteen surgeries at Phoenix Childrens Hospital. She was in remission for a year when routine imaging showed her most recent relapse in December 2022. The cancer is no longer responding to chemotherapy; therefore, she went through surgery in March 2023 to debulk the cancer to make her more comfortable.

There is no easy way to say this, but Carmella’s time is extremely limited and her last hope to beat cancer is a stem cell trial in Columbus, Ohio. Her treatment starts in April, and she will be staying with her mother and family members.

Carmella’s rock has been her mother, who has been by her side every step of the way. Carmella’s mother, Jennifer Tully had to leave a corporate career to take Carmella to treatments, and appointments and spend weeks in the hospital at a time.
