Emergency Vet Bills

Donation protected
Tonight should have been amazing. We went to the Berthoud Bash and shelled out savings so it could go toward Berthoud schools. We left at 9:30 so we could put our son to bed (albeit late) and played around with him and the babysitter when we got home. Then I went to let the dogs out and found it. There was blood and feces (probably from fear) EVERYWHERE. They share an extra, extra large kennel. I can only assume Yoshi started shit with Mario like he always does, but Mario fought back this time. Bowser likely got involved on behalf of his little puppy brother. Bowser has a broken sinus bone and needs stitches, antibiotics, and fluids due to all the muscle damage. Yoshi is at least losing an eye. Mario’s injuries looked superficial but Destry is about to take him in as well because he is having trouble walking. He will have to be surrendered first thing Monday morning. I can’t stomach the idea of letting all these dogs around my son again. I never, ever would have seen this coming. I’m beyond traumatized. I’m heavily drugged and still shaking.

I’m sure someone reading this is dying to judge me, and by all means, go for it. We had the dogs for over a year, but I’m sure someone, somewhere think you should never trust rescues for a moment, even with love and training. Just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE judge me where I can’t hear it. I’m sick to my stomach.

I’m asking for your help with these bills. If you know Destry and I, then you know we share the wealth and probably don’t save enough for ourselves. I will be forever grateful if you could help us recover from this.
