Help Brother in Blue-Medical Bills

As a Board member of the Suffolk Police Officers Association, Local 780, Suffolk, Va. I am posting this to ask for your help and make you aware of a difficult situation one of our fellow brothers is facing. I am going to copy and paste a Facebook post made by veteran Suffolk Police Sgt. Dave Wellford about his beloved wife, Tari;
"This is the hardest status update I've ever had to write. The absolute love of my life, the mother of my children, wife and partner for 30 years was tragically just diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma cancer three weeks ago. Three years ago, my wife, Tari, had a dime sized melanoma mole surgically removed from her back in addition to several lymph nodes. The lymph nodes at that time came back benign and we thought we dodged a huge bullet. Unfortunately, it has come back with a vengeance. Tari started feeling ill about a month and half ago and had several tests done but it wasn't until she had a CT scan that the Dr found the cancer. It is in several locations throughout her right side, to include her stomach, liver, lung and breast. Currently, she is on pain medication and undergoing additional tests so the Oncologist can set up a game plan to attack the cancer with meds, chemo and radiation. I'm asking all my friends and family to ask their prayer circles to please pray for us. In honor of my best friend and wife, my profile picture will always be a picture of Tari as she is battling this horrible disease. I just wanted to add that life is so precious and we all need to remember what's really important. Please love one another and God Bless you all."
Anyone who has been through something like a Cancer diagnosis knows the emotional and financial toll this can take on you. What you may not know is health insurance will not cover many of the costs associated with the long term intensive treatment and care needed. Tari has had to leave her job; no longer able to work due to her declining health. Treatment co pays, travel costs to out of state treatment, day to day cost, etc. will pile up as time goes on.
We are reaching out asking for your help and support for Dave and Tari. Whatever extra you can spare, if you can please donate whatever you can. Please pass the word so we can help take some of the burden from Dave and Tari as they fight this battle.
