Matt's road to recovery

On the morning of October 9, our brother, Matthew, was on his way to work and was suddenly struck by a truck. He was thrown from his scooter only to find his arm almost detached from his body.

With the help of the NYPD and EMS he was rushed to New York Presbyterian Hospital where he underwent a 6 hour surgery to piece his body back together. The dedicated doctors and nurses were able to reattach the arm. Two days later he pushed through another surgery only to find out there will be two more later this week. After surgery number three he will be transported to Cornell Hospital in Manhattan and be under the care of a team of neurologists. This team will work their hardest to get Matt's movement and functionality in his arm back.

Matt is a loving father to three beautiful children ages 2,9, and 11. He is a brave, caring, and high-spirited father, husband, brother, son, coworker and friend. He enjoys working with his hands and lives a life of overall servitude. He is a fighter, a believer and a survivor.

Unfortunately Matthew's road to rehabilitation is going to be a long one. His length of leave from employment is undetermined at this time and his insurance covers only so much of his extraordinary medical bills.

We are asking for prayers and support to help cover some of Matt's financial and medical responsibilities. With compounding efforts, we want to rid Matthew and his family of any additional stressors. We appreciate your thoughtfulness and generosity during this difficult time
