Help Bring Tom Home

Three months ago my dad, Tom, had a significant stroke.  He has limited mobility on his right side and diffiulties with communication.  Going forward he is going to need 24 hour care. It is my goal to provide that care in my home. 

In order to bring him home I am going to have to set up PCA services and make modifications to my home.  Loans and insurance will cover some of the needs, but not all.

I will be using the money from this to make initial modifications to my home, including building a ramp to my house, making my bathroom accessible and buying a used vehicle that i can transport a wheelchair in.   I will also need to cover wages lost from work.  I can take time off with the Family Medical Leave Act, but it will be unpaid time. 

My dad is currently in limbo, recently discharged ahead of schedule from Courage Kenny institute, currently at HCMC awaiting a nursing home placement. I hope to bring him home as soon as possible.
