Love For Luna

Donation protected
Hello,

We are the Fauvelle-March family. We consist of Haley, Leah, kitties Maddy & Theo, and Luna. Luna is our 4 year old Siberian Husky. Although we were busy college students, we fell in love with a 9 week old husky and we couldn't resist adding her to our little family.

Bringing Luna into our lives was the best decision we’ve ever made. She is honestly the light of our lives. Those of you who have met her, know how special of a dog she is. She is always smiling, unwavering in letting everyone know she has an opinion on everything, and just exudes positivity, gentleness, and love.

The past few days Luna has become very sick. With an emergency vet visit at 3am, and an additional visit to our primary vet the next day, it was determined that Luna was dealing with some sort of toxicity. Her vitals checked out, she was given fluids, and we were sent home to monitor her as the toxins should leave her body in a few days.

Haley and I did not sleep for 3 days straight. We watched her nonstop. Luna could not stand or walk on her own. We cared for her while Luna experienced very low motor skills, incontinence, dizziness, and confusion. By day three of this, we thought she might be recovering as her walking improved a little bit.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. Luna had an extreme seizure at our home on the evening of day three. We rushed her to our local emergency vet where she had more seizures, but they were able to get her medicine right away.

Now toxicity has been ruled out as the cause of her illness. We transferred her to the best vet hospital in Portland, the VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists, where she can be helped by a neurologist.

This is happening in real time as I write this. She has had numerous seizures. She has had an MRI, which shows she has extreme swelling of the right side of her brain. The condition she has is Inflammatory Brain Disease. This is due to her immune system attacking her brain. She has been put on steroids and we have to just wait and see if she responds.

We are creating this campaign as a plea for help from our family and friends. This hospitization and treatment is not inexpensive, and as we don’t know what the future holds for our baby, we really need your help!

We would like to raise $4,000 to help us with the medical expenses for Luna. Our bill is racking up as we speak (I will include a breakdown of cost that we are currently at), but there is nothing we won’t do to save her.

For those of you who know us personally, you know how much Luna means to Haley and I. We are obsessed with her. She is our saving grace every day when we get home and hear her “woo woo”ing at us. She is our baby, and she deserves to live a much longer life of adventure and share love from her family and friends.

We are so appreciative of any help you can offer us, by donating or sharing our GoFundMe page. The gratitude we have for any and all of your help will not go unnoticed. And please know we don’t take asking for help lightly.

Please help us spread the word as fast as we can by sharing it on your Facebook profile, Twitter or Instagram. We are racing against the clock.

Thank you guys so much in advance. We will be eternally grateful for you as will Luna. When she pulls through, she will reward you with one of her sloppy kisses and husky talk!
Trust me, it’ll warm your heart.

With love,
Leah and Haley
