Hi, I'm Caitlin. And this is my baby, Sophie. Sophie was recently diagnosed with an extremely low platelet count. She is already developing bruises in her ears and on her tummy in less than a 24 hour span, along with bloody vomit. After a long day at the vet she was diagnosed with ITP (immune-mediated thrombocytopenia) where the immune system attacks her own platelets. Her platelet count was 0 after 2 checks and a check under the microscope. For now she is home and on medications but we will most likely need to go to an emergency clinic with an internist to see if there an underlying issue. The estimate they gave us today could range anywhere from $4000-$6000. Any help for my baby girl would be most greatly appreciated.
