We struggled to pay our bills during this period, and we both did everything we could to avoid drowning. inevitably I wasn't alone in this; with a lot of support from my friends and the neighborhood, we managed to get through a challenging time last summer when my mom's former roommate moved out. After this, we found it challenging to pay our rent on time, but we were always able to give as much as we could. She was unable to work both her part-time job and her self- employment because of her new position after missing the September deadline, they chose to take her to court. we attempted to arrange a pay plan that would coincide with the remaining checks for this year, to no avail. We have gone to government programs and churches for help as well with little success. Once again I just want my mother to have a home to come back to.

Hello, I'm Breanna, and I'm organizing this fundraiser in support of my mother, Keisha. I attend VCU for my college education. This semester, I have two jobs including an internship! Through difficult scheduling and injury, my mom was able to make ends meet for a year by working a part-time job and working for herself after losing her primary source of income in the previous year. Fortunately, that chapter is now over, and in September 2024, she had the good fortune to land a job. Once again I just want my mother to have a home to come back to.
