My name is Tony (coach Tony to the players) and I am writing on behalf of 14u Goalie Wyatt Anderson.
I joined the Everett Jr Silvertips 14u team a few months back as a defensive / goalie specialist, and I became aware of a situation of our goalie, Wyatt.
On top of training to become a pilot, Wyatt is growing into an outstanding goalie and a great person (He filled in for our 18uAAA team last weak and only let in 1 goal). His passion for this game is something that I admire a great deal, but his ability to play is at risk due to financial troubles. Wyatt's Mom Barbara is currently battling stage 4 cancer. She is a single mother raising 3 kids on her own, and as you can imagine being terminal makes it hard to earn enough to support your family's interest and keep them fed, clothed and happy. Hockey isn't cheap and goalie makes it even less affordable, but Barbara has been able to scrape by with help from the community, her family, and others.
My goal is only to let their last years together be filled with the thing that brings them closest together, and that's hockey.
I've been lucky enough to have many loved ones survive the fight against cancer, Wyatt won't have that luxury. I can't imagine him losing the opportunity to do the thing he loves more than anything, and to lose the person that means the most to him in the same formidable years. So, i'm asking for the help of the community to raise money so that we can get wyatt gear that fits, and works so he can stop using the hand me downs from the booster club and myself. This will also free up a lot of money for them to pay for his league fees next season.
i want their family to stay focused on the positivity and happiness of hockey, and on Barbara's health.
