Wyatt Raitt - Ukraine child rescue

Wyatt Raitt is a 22-year old student from Hamilton, Ontario. He has traveled to the Polish/Ukraine border attempting to rescue an orphaned 7-year old girl from the war in Ukraine. The girl is currently with her brother in Ukraine as the attempt to flee the country.

Unfortunately, Wyatt's friend is unable and unwilling to cross the border. Ukrainian men are expected to stay and fight and are not permitted to leave. They are trying to get the girl out of Ukraine into Poland and then find her somewhere safe to live until the conflict is over. Hopefully, she can come to Canada in the interim, though there are legal hurdles.

 

Wyatt and his friend have been unable to communicate since early in March. While he waits for his friend at the border, Wyatt volunteers his time to support the tens of thousands of refugees fleeing the Ukraine at the Polish border every day.

 

The funds raised will cover Wyatt's expenses and any costs associated with relocating the girl. In addition, Wyatt will donate all unused funds directly to refugee assistance programs supporting the Ukrainian refugee crisis.
