**READ TILL THE END FOR A SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY TO GET SOME NEW ART**
BrickBox Studios is a co-op workspace where we have around 15 artists working on their creations and small businesses. This fundraiser is about our 40+ year-old furnace that has finally died. For the past 2 years we have tried to extend its life with many mini repairs, but right after this most recent repair attempt it caught fire (luckily it was safely and quickly stopped, thank goodness).
We can no longer continue with this furnace and HAVE to have a new one. Unfortunately, it is also the coldest time of the year here in Ohio so it HAS to be NOW. While a furnace is expensive, pipes bursting are an even bigger issue.
BrickBox has always strived to be an affordable space for artists who are so often over-charged and undervalued. We are no strangers to struggle, and we tend to not ask for much but like many much of our income was cut-off by eliminating in-person events where we can show and sell our work.
We are seeking to raise at least $3500, because we were lucky enough to find a contractor to replace it for $3000, and the $500 covers additional fees.
Any funds that exceed the budget will go into our repair funds to possibly finally fix two of our three toilets, our erratic electrical issues, and repair the recently discovered water damage. The water damage is in one of our studio spaces and is preventing us from renting it out, further reducing our incoming money and ability to solve these issues.
Why isn't the landlord covering it? In Ohio, commercial leasing doesn’t have some of the same requirements that housing does. When the lease was created over 8 years ago it wasn’t something we were aware enough of to navigate the legal space.

This wonderful space has been around since 2013, located in Grandview, Ohio. Our space is a positive and professional work environment celebrating the arts and its diverse community of creators. We at BrickBox Studios welcome all walks of life embracing our differences whether we are LGBTQ+, have nonverbal and physical disabilities, belong to communities of color, or an ally, and of all ages.
We use this space to host events, bring in clientele, and showcase and create new works of art. The past decade has given us some amazing memories, but unfortunately these past couple of years has been the hardest due to covid. As a result, we have canceled all events to protect the health and safety of our tenants, who some are immunocompromised. We pride ourselves to being an affordable space for our artists to grow their talents and businesses in.

We have a wonderful collection of talented artists donating their work.
