Reggie Jackson was paralyzed in a bicycle accident in Marin Headlands on October 14. Reggie has been cared for at John Muir Medical Center Trauma ICU in Walnut Creek, Kaiser Vacaville Medical Center ICU, and currently Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Respiratory and Rehab Unit. He is now being weaned off a ventilator. This go fund me is to help Reggie with his numerous medical expenses including DME (custom wheelchair, hoyer lift etc.), medical co-pays, disabled transportation, and service animal.
Reggie continues to amaze all the hospital staff with his kindness, positive attitude, and willingness to endure whatever they ask of him.
Special thanks to first responders in Marin Headlands, Air Patrol-Marin County Sheriffs Office, Nurse Katie in the John Muir Trauma ICU, Dr. Terence Chen-Neurosurgery at John Muir Health, Dr. Kostecki-Medical Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at KP, Falcon Critical Care Transport, and the numerous staff of the hospitals listed above.
Last but not least I thank the doctor I call Dr. Doom, who is spite of preparing us for the worst motivated Reggie all that more to not give up.
About Reggie. Reggie's greatest passion is mechanical engineering. Currently he has been working in the building industry. Some of his favorite previous work includes contributing to building: numerous bicycles at Fat City Bicycles; the giant mechanical hand in the movie "Monkey Bone"; Cloud's Gate-commonly known as "the BEAN" in Chicago; and the San Francisco Disc Golf Course in Golden Gate Park.
