HELP BRIAN RECOVER

On July 27, 2020, Brian Marshall suffered a sudden and unexpected hemorrhagic stroke.

This tragic state of events took everyone by surprise. He had no history of any illnesses or predisposed ailments that would have led to something so tragic. As a result of this devastating event, Brian instantly lost the ability to speak, stand, or use the limbs on the right side of his body.

Remarkably, Brian not only survived, but has returned home after being hospitalized for two weeks. He is now embarking on what is due to be a challenging and long road to recovery.

A large percentage of people who experience this type of stroke never make it to the hospital alive. Of those who do, there is a significant number who shockingly do not live for more than three days.

Brian is back to the basics and learning to do the simple everyday tasks we take for granted and is learning to talk and walk again. He spends his days practicing intense physical and voice therapy as he desperately works to regain his independence. He inspires us by maintaining a positive spirit and shows his determination daily. His will power is still very much evident and a daily reminder that his positive attitude will be one of the driving forces to his recovery.

But attitude alone won’t get him back to where he needs to be and this is where we need YOUR help!

Brian’s brother, Geoff Marshall, sister, Elizabeth Watts, and retired parents, Peter and Adelaide Marshall, raised enough funds to prepare the family home to be wheelchair accessible and to cover the initial costs of home nursing, speech therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and neurological costs that will be imperative to his recovery.

By surviving a hemorrhagic stroke, Brian has already beaten significant odds stacked against him. Regaining his health however will come with a great financial expense. With this in mind, we would like to ask for your help to make a donation and give him the fighting chance he deserves to take back his life as a well-loved musician, father, brother and friend.

We can’t thank you enough for your kind contribution as we work to give Brian the greatest likelihood of recovery.
