Lasy year, our youth project was at risk of closing because austerity cuts to youth services have meant that we have lost £33,000 of funding from the local authority.
The impact of these cuts has meant that Dr Mz is now the only full-time youth centre in the county. Youth Centres all across Wales and the UK have been closed, reduced, or are facing closure.
The youth project opened up in 1997 and has just celebrated it's 18th Birthday. The project aims to help and support the young people who attend. The support ranges from just having somewhere to 'hang out' to having somebody to talk to if needed and access training and volunteering opportunities in the community.
We have been working hard to raise funds and apply for grants and have succeeded in securing our future until December 2017!
