Saving Merry Mary's Eyes

Donation protected

I am an artist.  I've been at it 40 years.  For 18 of those years I've been doing battle with glaucoma, as it slowly erodes my eyesight.  It was held at bay with medication... for awhile.  When that failed, 4 laser surgeries followed.  When that failed, 2 more surgeries put stents in my eyes.   Still  I continue to lose vision.  Now my vision is actually cut in two.  Imagine looking at a photograph cut in half and overlapped creating a missing area.  My brain however apparently makes up for this and I think I'm seeing perfectly fine...LOL.    Six months ago I was informed that the nerve damage to the left eye was not good, and  two more laser surgeries just like the 4 failed ones  were suggested.  That's when I discovered  hyperbaric oxygen therapy.  New research suggests it can repair nerve damage and lower inflamation. I checked with my eye doctor.  She  said there is no cure for glaucoma and the therapy would not work.   But she added it  would not hurt either.   LOL... Insurance companies do not cover this treatment, but  I was able to trade some paintings  for 10 hyperbaric therapies.
Afterwards my pressure and visual field were retested.  The eye pressure was lower than it had been in years.  The visual field test keeps  track of where the vision is being lost.  It doesn't get better...supposedly.  Ahh!  But my retest left my eye doctor bewildered and sputtering.  Impossibly, it was improved.  I gained back some vision!
I want to purchase a home hyperbaric oxidation therapy chamber to continue to do battle with the glaucoma .  I have obtained the prescriptions for the chamber and the oxygen concentrator.  The price is at least $10,000  for a used Vitaeris Chamber.   I want to raise $4000 of that here.  Thank you for your generosity and support.  If you find my cause worthy, please paste and share a link with anyone else you think may help.  Cheers....Merry Arttoones aka Mary Susan Cate....
Update couldn't find a used Vitaeris ..the large size model. so we bought a new Respiro...the mid size unit on that was $12,612. ... so $2,612. more than the anticipated used Vitaeris... I'm leaving this up to try to make up some of the difference...but thank you soo much for making this possible.. @merryarttoone #MerryArttoones #MarySusanCate..
