35 amazing Prison Officers and civilian staff from HMP Elmley and HMP Swaleside are taking part in a 33 mile walk around the Isle Of Sheppey on the 9th May 2025, to raise money for Walking With The Wounded. This walk will commence at 0530 hours and finish around 2100 hours and this will be physically tiring, but staff from both prisons, along with support from our Regional Office are keen and raring to go and want to raise money for an amazing group of men and women, who have served their country. More information about Walking With The Wounded: Walking With The Wounded offers assistance through its programmes to those vulnerable veterans who have been physically, mentally or socially disadvantaged by their service and assist them in gaining independence through new long term careers outside of the military. This includes providing support to homeless veterans and veterans in the Criminal Justice System, areas which are too often ignored. The outcome? Sustainable employment, and independence for them and their families.
