Sustainable Revenue for Onehopechildren

Poultry Farm Project toward a Sustainable Revenue project for OneHopechildren

Since our founding in 1999, OneHopeChildren, Inc. has developed and implemented programs that have benefited hundreds of children and their families in the impoverished rural and small communities of southeastern Enugu State of Nigeria. Despite the difficult financial climate, OneHopeChildren has made "” and continues to make "” great progress, saving the lives of people who would otherwise have been lost for lack of medical attention, education and clean water.
Each year, our nonprofit organization provides a quality education for more than 100 children who otherwise would not be in school because their families are unable to afford it. Last year five of our scholarship recipients began their last year of high school and three others moved into their final year of high school.
Our annual "Medical Mission" deploys a team of doctors, nurses and other health care professionals who provide more than 1,000 children and their families in the rural communities with: much-needed examinations; screenings and treatment for diabetes, blood pressure/hypertension, cataracts, malaria, typhoid and sexually-transmitted diseases; psychological counseling; minor surgeries; medications and vitamin supplements; and all-important education on health care, nutrition and the importance of clean drinking water. As part of our healthcare initiative, we are committed to increasing the number of students pursuing careers in medicine and the sciences. Thanks to collaboration with neurosurgeons from the University Hospital in Enugu, a little girl with hydrocephalus underwent surgery that provided a shunt and relief from pain. And, we also constructed a water bore-hole and reservoir to provide one community with clean water and thereby helped halt the disastrous effects of waterborne diseases.
All of these possibilities became realities thanks to the generosity of spirit, and the time and financial donations of our generous benefactors, to whom we are most grateful.
The past few years, the entire world has been affected by the recession. We have seen the need for the services we provide grow considerably during this time, and we expect it to continue growing these next several years.
We know that in order for OneHopeChildren to continue meeting the growing needs of the people of southeastern Nigeria, we must implement a program that will allow us to be financially independent and self-sustaining long term. To that end we have developed the OneHopeChildren Poultry Farm Project. A great deal of research and study has gone into the development of this program, which we plan to have up and operating by January 31st, 2014. However, to get the Poultry Farm Project off the ground, we need to reach out to women and men of goodwill. We hope we can count on your goodness and heartfelt support in helping us get this project up-and-running with your financial backing. We have attached a copy of our Poultry Farm Project proposal for your review, and hope you will assist us in making this project a reality. Sincere thanks for your consideration.
