Hello, my name is Jess, and I’m reaching out to seek support for my 15-year-old son, Remi. In August, Remi suffered a foot injury while playing football. Football and sports are his passion, and he’s been dedicated to them since he was six years old. Currently, he’s preparing for his GCSEs and plans to start college this year, aiming to study a double BTEC in Sport and Business Studies. He also hopes to join the college’s academy football team, an incredible opportunity for him.
Despite numerous visits to doctors and being placed on waiting lists, Remi hasn’t received the necessary treatment. He was fortunate to have two physiotherapy sessions and has diligently followed the prescribed exercises, but his condition has worsened. I’m striving to raise funds to afford private physiotherapy for his recovery or, ideally, an MRI scan, which costs £350.
Remi endures daily pain, affecting both his physical and mental health. He’s a valued member of a fantastic football team in Hedge End, and his absence is deeply felt. The doctors have prescribed painkillers that offer no relief and aren’t suitable for someone his age.
Reaching out for help is challenging for me, but any contribution would mean the world to Remi and me. Thank you for taking the time to read our story. I just want my son to be pain-free, happy, and back on the football field. Much love, Jess x
