Proffitt’s Save Our Home Project

One of the hardest things to do is to ask for help. However, I feel like this is a must in our current situation. Many of you know the story of how we lost our home and got it back after waiting on the wonderful court system. After many months of laboriously working evenings and weekends, we have managed to remove everything we once owned along with all the molded cabinets, flooring and drywall. We literally have a shell of a house left but we are dedicated to make this a home once again. We were denied funds by the insurance company because they ruled it as negligence since one of the homeowners was in the residence during the time it was damaged. I have removed all the funds from my 401k to get us to the place we are today. These funds allowed us to purchase the new flooring, cabinets, appliances, electrical wiring, and fix plumbing issues. We are at a point now where our available funds are not sufficient to complete the remainder of the work required. We still need to cover the cost of labor to install the drywall, tile, etc. while still doing as much as we can on our own. We applied for a loan to get the rest of the funds, but were denied. We also are trying to sell the boat to cover the costs, but have been unable. This request for help is our last resort before having to figure out another course of action that we don’t want to do. If you are able to give toward our project, we would would be extremely grateful.
