Memorial Fund for Cyan Emery Wunderlich [5/3/2013]. Support Chris Wunderlich's dedicated effort to lay Cyan to rest in the earth of their family farm in Wisconsin.

Cyan Emery Wunderlich
passed on Thursday, May 3rd, 2013. Your gift to this Wunderlich Memorial Fund will support Chris's dedicated effort to lay Cyan to rest in the earth of their family farm in Wisconsin. In addition to your love and emotional support, your monetary gift will provide much-needed assistance for Chris as he settles Cyan's affairs and undertakes a journey across the continent, conveying Cyan's ashes first to the Sundance ceremony in South Dakota, and finally to the land of their family.

From Chris:
-----------------
"On May 3rd, my one and only son of 21 years died unexpectedly in his room. He and I were more like brothers than father and son: in the last four years he lived in Portland, we had the opportunity to become best friends. One of the beautiful things about our relationship as Father/Son/Friends has been being a part of the beautiful communities we are both a part of.

Getting to know Cyan's friends more through this process, I have been made aware of the reality for so many young adults who feel lost and hopeless about their future, the environment, politics, money, and all of these failing systems. They have these visions and dreams of a new world, and I know that I am here to help support and encourage these dreams to thrive, grow, and be born into this world.

Since Cyan died I am functioning in a notably different way: it has hugely opened my heart a million-fold, and my consciousness has shifted into a much more embodied and holistic state. Aside the pain of a Father losing his son, I am experiencing deep inspiration to create programs for kids in their 20's to help restore hope, save themselves and save the planet.

Yes, it sounds pretty grandiose, but we are indeed living in pivotally crucial times, and while on the human level there is of course deep grief, sadness, and letting-go, I am also immensely grateful that it has been made ever more clear to me the next level of my mission here on earth. In order to do this I know that I need some time and space to recalibrate and rediscover who I am, now that I am not Cyan's dad anymore.

You, my community, have offered to create this Memorial Fund, to help me support in the Sundance Ceremony at the Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota this June, and then continue to Wisconsin to the family farm to return my son's ashes to the place he loved so dearly in his childhood.

Thank you for your thoughts, comments, and offerings."

About this Campaign:

Those of us in Chris's immediate community felt called to offer our support of his healing and transition, and with Chris's blessing, have organized this campaign as an expression of our Love for Chris and Cyan, and of our belief that with community support, this loss of a Son and friend might be transformed into an opportunity for growth and healing.

Your gift will provide support for Chris to make the journey he must make at this time.

Please join us in supporting Chris, and the work we know that the heart of a Father will continue to bring to our world.

~ in gratitude...
