Wudang Kungfu Nomadic Dynamic Mtn. Training Space

I am fundraising to purchase a Yurt to provide an indoor training space for my school Wudang White Horse, along with a few other upgrades that will enhance the quality of experience for students who attend my courses.  For the past 2 years I have transitioned my school away from studios in town and into outdoor remote mountain locations so that students can study internal chinese martial arts and cultivate daoist health preservation practices in the traditional manner -removed from the distractions of society, connected to nature and the Dao.

We are currently on the Sun & Seed Farm, 40 acres off grid in Ukiah, CA!  Last year's programs went great!  We trained, meditated, and ran ceremonies in the shade of a 32x20 pavilion tent.  What would allow for even more effective study to occur would be an upgraded shelter from the extreme summer sun, as well as the winter cold!  A yurt would also allow us to run programs year round through the fall/winter/spring rains.

Since starting my teaching journey in 2010, and founding Wudang White Horse in 2014, I have longed for a space to truly unpack the richness of culture that is Wudang Daoist Arts.  To me this is swords, scrolls, the altar, training tools, tea and tea sets, traditional Chinese medicine glass cups for cupping therapy, Chinese medicinal herbs, scraping tools, mugwort, moxa boxes, teaching aid posters, books, calligraphy brushes, and other sacred items or training aids.

I believe in creating a focused training space that inspires movement, discipline, culture and rapture with life.  I value the way I have learned to have a dynamic and self reliant school that can unpack and set up camp wherever I land.  I am ready to upgrade that nomadic dynamic with a yurt space!  This still allows me to always take this training space with me should the school need to migrate or evolve further into the wild places and adventures of the future, while still creating improvements and grounding for the school in the meantime and what it can offer to the world for health preservation, connection to nature and spirit, and the joy and journey of martial movement!

Other hopeful upgrades include a propane refrigerator or freezer for the student kitchen.  Students will no longer need to worry about keeping fresh produce cool, or buying ice in town to fill their coolers with.   If the campaign reaches it's goals we would also like to get an AC unit plus generator to run on those 102 degree days, so that student's brains do not melt as they attempt to grow new abilities in their minds and bodies!  We would also like to outfit the yurt with a wood stove for winter month programs.

Who will benefit?
The students of Wudang White Horse!  This campaign will allow for more classes to be on the schedule year round.  It will create more comfort and ease of study in the rugged off grid mountain location which we value and find so essential to the experience.  It will create a richer cultural setting for the study of Wudang Daoist Martial Arts and Healing.

What will the funds be used for?
Essential...
>30' Yurt:  $15,000
>Construction of Deck Platform for Yurt, Labor and Materials: $3,000

Would be amazing if...
>Propane or Solar Freezer: $1,500
>Wood stove and installation: $2,800
>Generator: $500
>A.C. unit: $500

More dreams and goals...
>Statue of Zhen Wu True Warrior for altar: $900
>Poles, bricks, post diggers for Ba Gua training formations: $350

How soon do we need the funds?
We would like to purchase the yurt and have it delivered as soon as December or January.  Construction of the yurt will begin in February and be ready for the first course of 2020 season on March 16th!  This first course is a returning students of Five Immortals Temple collective workshop which we are very excited about!  It would feel amazing to have this infrastructure and indoor space to provide to the students attending, as March is still quite cold and rainy!  To host my martial brothers and sisters in the remote beauty of the mountains while also being able to provide shelter and warmth would feel like a huge accomplishment.  It would be the perfect way to start the year off with celebration and ceremony to open the new space.

To express my gratitude and return the abundance to students immediately, the following rewards are offered to my backers who donate within the prime campaign period (November-January)...
