A picture speaks a thousand words! It's time to provide new dictionaries for the 7th / 8th grade language arts team at Sunnyslope School in Phoenix, Arizona.
It's no secret that Arizona ranks dead last in funding for public education. This general lack of resources for schools plays out on a daily basis in classrooms across our state, and hits Title I schools like Sunnyslope especially hard. There is simply no extra money in the district budget to replace these worn out, dog-eared dictionaries. Unlike schools in nearby but more affluent neighborhoods, Sunnyslope does not enjoy the financial support of an active PTA group that raises money for classroom expenses. Please help me raise enough money to purchase two sets of 45 dictionaries (90 total). Your investment will improve the teaching and learning environment for students who need to be prepared to compete in high school. A contribution of only $10.50 will cover the cost of one book!
