Life-Saving Surgery for a Severely Injured Dog

You can make a difference by donating to Society For Animal Rescue & Adoption to help pay for a severely injured dog's life-saving jaw surgery.

SARA seeks to rescue and rehabilitate any animal in need regardless of species, special health needs, or temperament. We are committed to our mission of "unconditional life," giving as many animals as possible a chance to be healthy, happy, and free from harm.

And true to our mission, we have taken in Bear (formerly known as Swayze), who suffered terrible trauma to his jaw and mouth. It is speculated that he was struck with a baseball bat or other blunt, heavy object. He was languishing at an animal control facility in Fort Bend County in East Texas with no means to provide the care he needed.

So far, his surgery has cost $7,225.00. He is still in recovery at Blue Pearl Specialty Clinic in San Antonio and will come home to SARA tomorrow. He will need to go back for additional Xrays and checkups to ensure his jaw is healing properly and there is no infection.

All funds raised will help pay for this costly but necessary surgery. Without it, he would have died.

Despite all he's been through, he is still sweet, loving, and trusting.
