Who am I, and what am I doing?
For anyone reading this who doesn't know me, my name is Max DeLashmutt and I am from Portland, Oregon. I am currently living in the West African country of Ghana, serving in the Peace Corps. I teacher Junior High School Math to some of the most inspiring children you will meet in your whole life. I've been in Ghana for just over 8 months out of the total 27 month service, and I am loving life here.
What is my cause?
I have made this GoFundMe page in hopes that I might be able to raise enough money so that I can come home over the summer to watch my big sister, Alli, graduate from nursing school. THIS VISIT WOULD BE A SURPRISE TO HER, WHICH IS WHY I ASK THAT THIS NOT BE SHARED ON FACEBOOK. My sister means THE WORLD to me, and this is a monumental day in her life, and it would truly break my heart to not be there for her. She is an inspiration to me and has worked so hard, over come so much, and deserves to have her whole family at her side for her big day. My every fiber wants to be there for her, but the only way that this can happen is if a few kind and generous people back home are willing to help. I am asking for $2,200. This will cover my round trip flight, and my living expenses while I am back home. Also, if there is any money left over after the trip is complete, I will donate the remaining money to my school here in Ghana. There are some resources that the school would like to get, but we simply don't have any money to get them, so any and all money donated to this page is going to a fantastic cause.
