Writing Enrichment access for Students

I am currently teaching a Writing Enrichment course at a low-income neighborhood school in Philadelphia where 100% of our students receive free-lunches. My K-4 students are courageous, curious, and charismatic. Their dedication to show up to online school everyday makes being a teacher even more of a blessing. We are working on building a collaborative and creative learning environment in our little "Zoomiverse." As we move forward in this virtual world, there is a challenge to get the students engaged in reading and creative writing due to the limited range of technical knowledge with Nearpod, Google applications, etc. I fear that students are not getting as much as they can out of reading and writing.

I have found this unique and easy-to-use learning source called Storybird. I am trying to raise money so that ALL of my 165 K-4 students can have the chance to engage in Storybird's creative tools.

With your help, students will be able to access Storybird's standard-based writing curriculum that engages students with age-appropriate video tutorials, writing challenges, quizzes, and more. Storybird also offers the opportunity to have student's work published! Even at home, I believe that my students should be able to display and be proud of their hard work. This program will help with getting kids engaged and excited about reading and writing in this virtual world.
