My name is Tenesha L. Curtis. I have loved writing and reading since before I started going to school (thanks to my parents' genetic and behavioral encouragement!).
My dream is to open a facility that will serve as a shrine to literary acts. People will come there to read all manner of things and create scripts, novels, legal documents, and many other written works. I want a cluster of meeting rooms for book clubs, critique groups, table readings, writing classes, language courses, and other activities related to reading and writing. I want to sell books by local, independent authors and literature-inspired pieces from local artists. I want a recording studio where writers can manage the production of their audio books and produce demos to showcase their lyrics to music publishers. Writerwerx will benefit local writers and artists and their families through both the sale and promotion of their work. Writerwerx will also help strengthen the literacy rate and encourage both children and adults to participate in recreational reading and writing on a more consistent basis.
I want Writerwerx to be the ultimate literary lounge, and I'm asking for your help to make it happen. You support literacy, you support local businesses, you support minority owned ventures, and you support women in business, all when you donate to Writerwerx.
The amount of money being raised will be used for securing and promoting our initial facility. The bells and whistles I mentioned above will come from profits made once we're in operation.
