Wrinkle in Time Challenge

Donation protected
I was inspired, in honor of Womxn's Herstory Month, to create a challenge to community to send 50 girls, with a focus on black girls, to see Wrinkle in Time.

We're planning to host the girls at an Advance Screening on Thursday March 8th at the Movie Tavern in Aurora, CO with a special pre-showing activity by Regis University's BSA focused on self-love and affirmation.

Each girl will have 1 guest and all attendees will receive a soda and popcorn. I've also updated the goal here to include the ambitious financial desire to buy each girl a copy of A Wrinkle in Time as a gift (50 copies total). The hope is that we could start book clubs at their local venues (schools, churches, orgs) to help engage and inform their reading of the text.

We took the children to Wakanda where they met Princess Shuri in all of her technological genius and magic. Now I'm asking you to send them on a journey with Meg as well. These characters give our girls an opportunity to dream themselves in spaces that typically haven't been reserved for them.

In a world that doesn't always want little black girls to actualize their magic, we as a community have a responsibility to show them characters like Meg Murry that do just that!

This is their moment and positive representation matters.

Please give what you can and if you're an organization that wants to support with an official invoice please email me via GoFundMe
