Struggling from a loss

Donation protected
Six months ago our dad Glenn Hammett, husband of Roxanne Dale Hammett was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. They told our dad that he would have 2 maybe 3 years due to the fact that none of his tumors were operable. He was told he was treatable but not curable.

Recently our dad was cleared to fly to their happy place in Daytona Beach Florida for a vacation with his family, and grandchildren. It was a perfect day of travel.  When  they finally reached their happy place, all my dad kept saying was “hon I made it”. He was so happy. The next day we knew he’d be tired due to the fact that he had a chemo treatment 2 days prior on top of a day of traveling. So, he spent the next day resting but, that night he made it out to dinner. On day 3 he still hadn’t recuperated  from day 1. By day 4 he ended up in the hospital. Within a few days he was completely sedated and transferred to hospice, where he passed away after only the second day of being with hospice.

As a young man our dad was a car mechanic, then our mom and dad got married. He was a mail carrier for the Wanaque Post Office, then moved to the Ringwood Post Office. His real dream was to have his own trucking business Glenn Hammett & Son, in which became a reality. His most proudest accomplishment was serving 6 years  in the U.S. Navy.

With the untimely loss of our father, he and my mom didn’t have enough time to prepare for his sudden and unexpected passing. As our mother thought my dad carried a life insurance policy, it turned out to be for accidental death only.
As it turns out there were no other funds that our mother could rely on . Our dad has been out of work for the past 6 months from start to finish with bills now coming in.  Our dad always took care of the bills, house, yard, and our mom never worried about anything . The loss of a loved one is never easy but when your afraid of losing your home that your husband built with his bare hands it’s a sad and scary feeling. Our mom is not one to ask for help she’s way to proud. She now has to pay an estate lawyer because they had no Will or a simple POA. So any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. We thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts.
