The Vault Gaming Center - COVID 19
Hello, we are The Vault Gaming Center, a small, locally owned business located in Amarillo Texas. The best way to describe us is as a modern arcade, with Gaming PC's, Current Generation Consoles and Virtual Reality! We are a pay to play establishment where customers purchase game time to use our equipment and access our game library. Additionally we host tournaments, have birthday parties, and run a weekly all night lock-in! At least we used too...
We are a highly social and hands-on business, and in the era of social distancing and Covid-19 that simply won't do. We have been forced to close to the public since March 20th, and while we remain hopeful that we will be able to re-open on May 1st, we are still in a tough position. After being open for a little over a year, being closed for a month and a half was never part of our business plan. As soon as our region was able to apply for disaster relief, we made our application and of this writing on April 22nd, we have not received any response. Without assistance, our future is uncertain. The emergency funds that we applied for have run dry, and we watch as congress fights among themselves to see who will be saved and who will be ignored. As it stands the small businesses with the most employees are being given priority (up to 500), with large businesses being able to apply and receive funds based on individual locations instead of the business as a whole. Mom and Pop shops like ours seem to be ignored, or not worthy of triage.
While we remain hopeful, we also must prepare for the worst and are forced to be skeptical. It is out of necessity that this GoFundMe will exist. For our customers that are able to support us during this time, we hope to be able to continue to earn your business in the future.
