Bill Dula Leukemia Fight

Bill Dula has been fighting Leukemia for over 10 years. He has been through conventional chemotherapy and has tried countless oral medications, all of which worked temporarily. Each new medication lasts less time before relapse and doctors now say his last, best hope is to undergo a bone marrow transplant with the help of his youngest brother Ken, who is a donor match.  The procedure and subsequent treatment will take place at UNC Healthcare in Chapel Hill, NC.

Bill is one of nine children and he is a loving and caring husband, brother, uncle, and friend.  Bill never hesitates to help anyone, he truly lives a giving life.  He will need lots of help and prayers to accomplish this treatment successfully. His wife Kim will be tasked with accompanying him to treatments out of town, taking care of him during a long recovery process, all while working full time.

Bill will spend at least a month in the hospital, isolated from all physical contact, then two months in an isolation room.  After that, he will be required to spend three months in his home, again with little or no physical contact while his body adjusts to his new marrow.  All family members will help with what they can, but it will not be nearly enough to pay for this incredibly expensive treatment.

We are asking for funds to help pay for household and travel expenses that they will need to continue to cover during this treatment.  With the love and support of everyone, we feel strongly that Bill will, as he always does, fight for his health and not only win, but finally be able to live in good health and happiness.  We truly thank everyone for your support and prayers, may God bless you.
