Hi! I’m Chris and I’m on a mission to help people who, like me, are wheelchair users. I’ve created the best cupholder in the world, and I want you to be part of my journey to help improve lives!
On November 21, 2014 I had a near-death accident that changed the lives of myself and my loved ones forever. I fell in the shower, broke my neck, and lay unconscious for 14 hours before help arrived. My diagnosis and prognosis weren’t good…but my heart had a lot of fight left in it!
My new life has taken me through the A-Z of the healthcare system. From emergency room surgery and ICU, to inpatient care, a heart attack, a bout of pneumonia, years of rehab, outpatient care, too many follow-ups to count, research group advocacy, and lots of volunteering…I see now that there is so much room to improve the lives of others like myself!
It was a miracle that I survived to tell my story, and I knew then, as I know now, that my path is to help others, as others helped me.
I started www.HandiHelp.com and launched my first product, the HandiCup, which gives wheelchair users more independence and improves their quality of life. I recognized that existing cup holders were too expensive, too fragile, too difficult to install, too easy to get knocked off, and a pain to clean. That’s why I created the HandiCup!
"The World’s Best Wheelchair Cup Holder" is designed by me and made for you!
The HandiCup is a universal wheelchair cupholder that gives users easy access to their beverage. It’s the easiest cup holder to use for those with limited hand functionality, and the sturdiest cup holder on the market! It’ll even fit most cellphones!
The HandiCup comes in three colours, Black, Red, and Blue. It is made of food-safe, durable, and dishwasher-safe plastic. It comes with a spacer for easier access to smaller cups, and has a dedicated space for a sticker with your name, a corporate logo, or the name of the wheelchair user!
The Handicup is the launch-product of my accessibility products and services company, HandiHelp. The HandiCup is just the first of an innovative line of products that I am designing for wheelchair users. The goal is to help as many people with unique accessibility requirements as possible.
