Hello,
My name is Olivia Oliver. Just a few years ago, as an 11 year-old, I broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest spinner on ice in Warsaw, Poland, and in doing so raised over $20,000 to make wishes come true for terminally-ill Polish children.
Well, it’s hard to believe, but now my own figure skating dream has just come true!
Just recently me and my ice-dance partner, Peter, performed our best programs of the season - in only our 3rd ever competition - and amazingly we qualified to compete in the World Junior Figure Skating Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, in March.
We’ve only been training together for six months but we’ve been working so hard and now we’ve been rewarded with an entry to the World Championships - with 30 other teams from around the world! It’s all happened so quickly.
I’m reaching out in the hope that our dedication, hard work and commitment will help you decide to support us, in any small way you can. Our target goal is to cover the costs of the airfares and expenses that it takes to compete in the World Junior Figure Skating Championships.
Throughout my short skating career I’ve never stopped working to help sick kids. I’ve continued to raise money to help make their wishes come true and donated my “world record skates” to a young girl with spina-bifida. After the World Championships I’m launching my own charitable cause “Skating for Young Heroes” to continue giving back and helping children less fortunate.
I know I am going to be one of the youngest and least experienced competitors at the World Championships but I am very proud to have made it this far and I promise to give it everything I have and to take this “once in a lifetime” experience to do better and greater things in this world.
