World Vets : International Aid For Animals
Donation protected
On July 17th I will be traveling to Cabarete, Dominican Republic as a volunteer for World Vets. The mission of World Vets is to improve the health and well being of animals by providing veterinary aid in developing countries. The goal of this program is a spay/neuter campaign targeting both owned and stray dogs and cats.
I will be working in a team of 15 - consisting of veterinarians, technicians, veterinary students, and assistants. Our goal will be to spay and neuter upwards of 50-75 animals per day. We will also treat injuries and perform health consultations as needed. The Humane Society of the United States estimates that one un-spayed dog and her offspring can produce 11,167 puppies per year. One un-spayed female cat and her offspring can produce 60,000+ in their lifetime. The best way to enhance the health of individual animals is by controlling overpopulation.
Since this is a volunteer trip, I am responsible for the project fee and flight costs. I am asking for contributions to help fund my work. No amount is too small! The animals I am able to help because of your donations will be forever grateful! I will be posting updates on this page so you can follow along with my work. Thank you!
