World Medicine Chaparda Project, Gujarat, India

My name is Nina and I am raising funds for the Chaparda Project in Gujarat, India with the acupuncture charity, World Medicine.

I have been selected as part of the charity team to work with the host organisation, Health Aid Trust, and provide acupuncture treatments and its adjunct therapies to hundreds of people in this rural community for three weeks in January 2025. This will take place in a multibed clinic at the local hospital.

The community is predominantly made up of farmers and miners who spend long days doing very physical manual labour. Many patients travel far to attend the clinic with bad backs, knees and other injuries that cause them pain and discomfort through their working day. The outcomes recorded from the charity work are impressive, with 83% of patients showing improvements and 25% of patients feeling completely better.

Any donations received will go towards travel to Gujarat, along with donations to the charity for hospital supplies such as acupuncture needles and other charity needs. Anyone who donates will also get a weekly email from me while I am on the project to show how their funds are being used to help this project. I am looking forward to meeting the communities and putting my acupuncture skills to use.
