World Choir for Peace - Support Us!

We need your help to support the non-profit organisation World Choir for Peace's mission to unite people across the globe to sing for peace.

Unfortunately due to essential funding falling through we now need to ask for your support so that the World Choir for Peace can continue doing its important work to pave the way for a future of peace and unity.

Please take a moment to watch our story and our vision.

“Choral singing is a powerful instrument of peace and understanding, connecting communities and encouraging respect for one another. Our voices join in harmony” (Nicol Matt - artistic director and founder of the World Choir for Peace).

Our premiere concert was in 2018, marking the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. Under the patronage of the German UNESCO Commission in Berlin, 2,000 singers from more than 30 countries sang The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace, conducted by composer Sir Karl Jenkins. Nicol Matt further developed the idea and mission of the choir after the successful performance and founded a core choir with 36 professional singers from 24 nations. The members are not only united by their passion for choral music but also by long-standing friendships and thus serve as role models for a united & equal community.

We need your help now to move forward and realise fresh, innovative and peaceful music together with current composers. We are currently working on an exciting new album of music by Sir Karl Jenkins (composer of Adiemus) titled One World, under the Decca label, which will be released in June 2023. The premiere performance of this latest masterpiece is planned to take place in Linz, Austria in November 2023 and further tours around the world but this needs financial support.

Our last album Peaceful Choir is also ready to be taken on tour. This album was recorded in the final days leading up to the corona pandemic lock-down, where we produced an extraordinary CD project with Sony Classical. It included many world premiere recordings and deserves to be heard around the world.

Our sense of community inspires composers of our time. That is why we would like to support the work of contemporary composers and appoint one composer in residence per project focusing on their work. Our passion for choral music is transported through breathtaking performances and inspires audiences worldwide. Our projects are accompanied by a specially developed educational program entitled "Singing Unites" where we invite regional choirs and their singers to sing along and fill the region with new music connecting communities. Most of the work required for this is done voluntarily. Nevertheless, we are dependent on income from donations and sponsors, since the implementation of the musically very complex works is associated with very high costs.

Donations make all the difference for the World Choir for Peace, without the generous support of our community, we wouldn’t be able to do the important work we do. Your contribution helps educate, entertain, and inspire a beloved community of choral singers across the world. We are very grateful and your support is much appreciated

Thank you so much for your generosity.
