Ed & Chris Work to Support Jawonio

Tax deductible
Vision Sports Club and Jawonio have partnered for GIVINGTuesday this year to offer a number of raffles, prizes, and specialty classes to benefit the Jawonio Foundation, in support of their $18 million Campus RevitalizationProject.  For more information on the project, please visit http://www.jawonio.org/campus-transformation/

Though we both fully support their wonderful efforts, we wanted to do a little bit of extra work...OK, maybe a LOT of extra work. In the gym, that is. On Friday, December 1st, we have decided to undertake a 3 hour long personal physical challenge to help raise additional funds and awareness for this very special fundraising effort.

Here's what our 3 hour long endeavor looks like:

1st hour:

Many of you have seen the "22 for 22" Challenge, where participants pledge to do 22 push-ups a day, for 22 straight days, to bring attention to the 22 veterans who take their own lives each day. We plan to do the same thing - 22 sets of 22 push-ups - 484 total. But we're going to do them in a single hour. And we're going to do them in between sets of what some would consider a "normal" chest workout. FUN!

2nd hour:

The Murph Challenge is the Official annual fundraiser of the LT. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation, and is participated in each Memorial Day by thousands of athletes. Part of this grueling workout is a series of pull-ups...100 to be exact. We're doing those 100 pull-ups...in an hour. In the middle of a circuit of additional back exercises. MORE FUN!

3rd hour:

For our third and final hour, we're going to complete the balance of the Murph Challenge - by running a mile and then doing 300 squats. Then running another mile.  PROBABLY NO LONGER FUN.

We're hoping that the physical misery we plan to put ourselves through will help bring awareness to what the wonderful people of Jawonio have done, are doing, and will continue to do for our communities. We're also hoping that you can further support their efforts by donating to this cause.  Every little bit helps - and we encourage you to pledge whatever you can. Unless you want to come do push-ups...

Thanks so much for your suport - wish us luck!

Ed and Chris
