Woodstock Farmers Market 2021 Season

Dear neighbors and friends of the Woodstock Farmers Market,

2021 marks the 11th season of the Woodstock Farmers Market! With your help last year, we were not only able to make the 10th season happen during the huge uncertainty of the pandemic, but it will be looked back on as a good year for the market! What was so good about it? First of all, YOU. So many of you showed up, masks on, smiles in your eyes, to ensure that our vendors had a reason to bring their products and produce to the market. The Market gave us a reason to get outside and share in this community event even though it was daily, hourly, so strange and unusual. At the same time, it also felt like the right thing to do, the right place to be. The sun kept shining, the rains kept falling, the greens kept growing and we were there for it. So, thank you so much!

What has not changed for this year is the difficulty and uncertainty our regular Market sponsors are experiencing. While the bulk of our small payroll and operations are paid for by the vendors themselves through their stall fees, we annually rely on sponsors, donations from our community, and grants to close the gap on our overhead expenses. Things like port-a-potties, insurance, permits and supplies are covered by this annual giving.

As a designated essential service, the Woodstock Farmers Market will again open as regularly scheduled, on June 6th. Last year saw a huge uptick in shoppers utilizing SNAP as so many people saw their livelihoods severely impacted by pandemic, wildfires, loss of childcare, illness, and more. The Market has a SNAP Matching Program to extend those dollars even further each Market day. We are so proud that we were able to meet our goals for that program throughout the whole of our 10th Season. Any funds above and beyond our needed payroll and operations are earmarked for our SNAP Matching Program. You can read more about that program and how we use those funds on our website [link: https://woodstockmarketpdx.com/programs/snap-debit/]
