In the past, our children have been able to spend copious amounts of time in the woods, learning to ride bikes (we've taught over 20 children between the ages of 3-10 how to ride a two wheeled bike), playing ball, exploring nature, running in the fields, and so on.
We were very excited last summer to begin utilizing the 10 acres of outdoor land that initially attracted us to our new location. Unfortunately we ran into a bit of trouble with poison ivy which we handled by creating 3000 square feet of play space using landscaping fabric and wood chips. We have also built bike trails which we weeded tirelessly to keep all of our campers safe last summer. We will not allow the poison ivy to stand in our way and this is where we are turning to our community - WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We are trying to raise money to rent goats to eat all the poison ivy (and greatly help to reduce tick populations) so that our students can run, ride bikes, and play in the fields and woods.
We want to rent goats this spring/summer because they are ecologically safe. The place we have found that can help us is named Green Goats, and just like us they are a small family owned and operated business that has worked hard to get where they are.
