Para Rider’s trail ride for the air ambulance

Hi I'm Kirstie and I'm a para dressage rider in cornwall. I have ehlers danlos syndome which is a genetic connective tissue disorder which means i dislocate a lot, I also have generalised dytonia which is a neurological disorder which causes hideous spasms and limbs to twist, I also suffer hemiplegic migraine which causes me to suffer periods of blindness and paralysis that can be for hours or a couple of days.
This July I shall be doing a 50 mile trail ride with a recently backed horse the beautiful mimosa I kindly have been loaned for my future dressage career. she was only backed in November so that in itself is a challenge. we shall be doing the 50 miles over 3 consecutive days. To add to the challenge i will not know the route before I go. I will be escorted by the lovely Vicky from Haytor endurance who has kindly helped me with my adventure.
Now this may be an easy thing for an able bodied rider but with my badly behaving body it isnt going to be so easy, I will be training quite hard to get myself and mimosa (young recently backed gorgeous giraffe) ready for this trail. I really will be putting everything in to achieve my goal of raising as much money for this amazing charity to hep keep this amazing service in the air. Am sure we all know of someone who has required them at some point in their lives. I know of many and this is why they are my chosen charity, For the friends they have helped, for the friends children they have flown to Bristol and for standing by outside treliske hopital when they thought i was going into premature labour with my twins in case they needed to get me to edinburgh when at that moment the only 2 neo natal cots were there.
We live in the countryside, we enjoy outdoor sports, you never know when you might need them, they are totally amazing please show them your support and if you can donate even a pound that would be great. thankyou so much xx
We have a fb page for anyone wanting to follow our training progress. The wonky zebra and the beautiful giraffe. For anyone wandering about the name ,the term zebra is used for people with ehlers danlos syndrome as like zebras no two are the same, and as for mimi, well when i met her she was a little taller than her owner thought she was and my first words were " oh my, shes a giraffe",
many thanks  for your support for such a wonderful charity xx
