Women of Worth: Against the Odds

The Lynchburg College Women's Soccer team has started up a legacy project called "Women of Worth: Against the Odds". Our mission is to transform and empower young girls to become world-changing women. We do this through love, encouragement, and reinforcement of self-worth as we build life-long relationships through mutual respect and trust.
Globally, our team is sponsoring 10 middle school aged girls in Gulu, Uganda. For $30/girl/month, we will be able to provide each WOW girl with an education, daily meals, access to health care, sports activities, Biblical training, and a life-long relationship with a few players on the Lynchburg College Women's Soccer team. Through Skype and letters, we intend to build relationships with these girls that will impact us all forever. Just as the WOW girls are making a committment to be a part of our program, we are making a committment to provide them with the means to recieve an education every single year, until they graduate high school.
Locally, our team will be sponsoring 13 girls from Dunbar Middle School. We will be mentoring and pouring encouragement into these WOW girls in the hope that change will be produced not only in their lives, but also in the lives of girls in their local communities and future generations. Monthly events will be planned for us to continue to build relationships with one another.
Educating and mentoring middle school girls may not seem like a world changing idea, but we assure you that it is. Although Gulu differs greatly from the city of Lynchburg, they are the same in so many ways. Girls are wandering through their lives without any sense that they have been created for great purposes, and therefore, with an unbelievable amount of worth. When these young girls grasp that they are true Women of Worth, they will no longer settle for less than they deserve, but be able to stand up to adversaries in their lives, and impact the world.

We have made a promise to raise $3,600 per year at a minimum, and we can't do it without your support! We are on a mission to change the world, one life at a time. Will you join us?
