PIPPI HOUSE - CREATING A SAFE HOME FOR GIRLS IN NEED

Get detailed information about our project here:
PIPPI HOUSE MAGAZINE

Pippi House is a women's shelter in Tanzania that aims to break the cycle of poverty and violence affecting high risk girls and young women in Arusha.

The foundation runs a women’s shelter, where more than 90 girls and women between the ages of 12 and 26 are being taken care of together with their children. They are all given the opportunity to attend school or get an education depending on their age. The girls and women came to the shelter to escape poverty, homelessness and other dangerous living conditions. Many of the inhabitants were forced to marry and/or are victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, and physical and/or sexual abuse.

Therefore Pippi House Foundation aims to get girls off the street and into a safe home with food, shelter and access to medical care. We’re trying to enable, counsel and encourage their healthy psychological and social development. And of course to educate and empower them to obtain employment and live self-sufficient, happy lives.
