Please help Women Inspiration Development Center (WIDC) raise $45,000 to support girls in developing their power and voice!
Women Inspiration Development Center is an organization that educates, empowers and promotes the voices of teenage mothers and girls living in extreme poverty in Nigeria—developing their self-esteem, self-worth and setting them off on the path to become active leaders for social change.
WIDC’s project will train 20 local leaders to facilitate agency-based empowerment workshops and support 210 vulnerable girls to find their voices, discover their power and live their dreams. 4,200 vulnerable girls will be reached through this project in Northern and Southern Nigeria.
Challenge
Two out of 10 people living in extreme poverty in Nigeria are adolescent girls. Adolescence is a critical time in life for all, but for girls, it will chart the course for the rest of their life. When a girl hits adolescence, they are at risk of dropping out of school, becoming pregnant or being exposed to HIV, all of which could negatively impact the rest of their life. To change this reality, we must educate, empower and equip our girls.
Solution
WIDC is teaching young girls to discover their truth, equipping them with leadership skills and life skills that will set them on the path to becoming agents of social change in their communities.
WIDC’s programming and workshops , teaches girls to shift their patterns of thinking to broaden their vision and goals for their futures, and equips them with tools to develop belief in themselves and their own agency. WIDC also provides resources and helps to create the support systems that will enable girls to reach their goals.
Join us in supporting adolescent girls and their dreams for their future.
