Women in Local Food & Farming Forming a Non Profit

Women in Local Food and Farming (WLFF) is raising funds to be able to pay for the fees associated with becoming a non-profit organization. Once we have non-profit status, our group will be able to be an educational service and offer more opportunities for women farmers and producers in Nebraska.
Services we would like to provide include courses on successful farm business, relevant educational speakers, conferences, and to provide support and networking with women farmers in Nebraska.

The group's mission statement is: Women Supporting Women to Improve our Local Food Systems and Sustainable Farms. Currently WLFF services include networking events, book discussions, farm tours, work days, and markets. We hope to provide additional services, host events, and offer support in the future when we become a non-profit organization. 

The fees associated with becoming a non-profit organization include filing Articles of Incorporation, publishing incorporation, applying for 501(c) status, and acquiring any additional permits for events. We will begin the process of becoming a non-profit in December 2020.
