Woman hit by car

Donation protected
On May 16, 2020, I was riding my motorcycle on my way to Turkey Point with my friend Marla, to spend the day on the beach. As we were travelling down highway 6, a car in front of us decided to turn left and slammed on his brakes. There were no brake lights on the car either. I didn’t want to veer around him on his right because it was full of gravel. I went left and crossed into the oncoming traffic lane which was empty, braking the whole time. The car came to a complete stop and my right saddlebag hit his bumper causing us to fishtail. I was so close to clearing him but his abrupt stop on the highway left me little wiggle room. We were tossed from the bike and it fell over. Marla sustained a busted ankle, legs and her arm felt like it was dislocated. I landed face down on the pavement. I had sustained a brain hemorrhage that was bleeding out my nose. I was suffocating face down in the puddle of my own blood while Marla was screaming my name and was directing the people that came to help us, to me. She could hear me struggling to breathe and was worried I wasn’t gonna make it. I was airlifted to Hamilton General Hospital and she was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. We’re both lucky to be alive and healing. I’ve had CT scans, ultrasounds, and an MRI. My brain will take 6 months to a year to completely heal. I’m not allowed to drive or work during this time. I’m so thankful for the generosity you all have shown me in the first fundraiser started by my friend Toni shortly after the accident. And now I have to ask again. I won’t have enough money to finish my healing without your kindness and generosity. Please, if you’re able to, give what you can. You can either send it via etransfer to [email redacted] or through this GoFundMe to receive a tax receipt. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Knowing me, you know asking for help is a foreign concept to me. I’ve always taken care of myself and my friends so know that it wasn’t easy to write this and humble myself to you. Sincerely, thank you.
