WOLFPAAC - Women's Flag and Tackle Football
Donation protected
Women of Ladies Football Premier Amateur Athletic Combine provides female-only Flag and Tackle Football for London and the surrounding area.
In April of 2022, on the heels of a successfully run, 4-week program at Centrefield sports, programming that received multiple media-outlet coverage, Women’s football came to London in a real and welcomed way. Building off the successful LJM framework and name recognition, in advance of hosting the 2022 Ontario Flag Football Provincials, this momentum carried forward to a large contingent of girls joining and succeeding in our Spring Flag program. As a result, two of our participants, Jessica Knight, and Kennedy Vanek, were added to the U16 Girls Provincial Team to represent Ontario and, by default, the LJM organization in PEI this August, where they brought home a Bronze Medal.
There is a clear need, available skill-set and appetite in London for “Girls-Only” football.
Jay Kenemy’s vision was of a separate but equal segment of the LJM club structure to support both Women’s Flag and Tackle Football, and when he asked me to lead this segment for him, I eagerly agreed. With my daughter’s planned and current involvement, I am committed to bringing both avenues of play to London’s female athletes.
Unfortunately, Jay passed away in July, and with the reorganization that occurred days after, the LJM program has decided not to pursue Women's Football this year.
WOLFPAAC is here to keep the momentum and Jay's vision alive and ensure Women's football is a unified presence across London and surrounding geographic areas.
In coordination with: London Junior Mustangs; LMFA; London Legends Women’s Flag; and OFFL, the female athletes of London, Ontario and the surrounding areas, the opportunity to participate in Flag and Tackle Football programs on their own terms, without having to play with and against their male contemporaries in Co-ed Leagues any longer.
We need your help, both financially and in-person, to provide the equipment and opportunity for the girls to play and grow this sport that is a significant piece of London's identity.
